We only ingest from a curated list of credible pharmacy sector publishers. The list is managed manually by our editorial team and includes UK pharmacy regulators and trade bodies (where they syndicate via RSS / Atom), pharmacy trade press where the publisher has explicitly invited syndication, and government / NHS feeds covering pharmacy policy.
Every news item carries the source name and a direct link to the original article on the publisher's site. We show the headline, the source-provided summary (where the publisher has put one in their feed), and a clear CTA to read the full article on the source. We don't republish copyrighted body text. If a publisher asks us to remove their feed, we do so and stop ingesting that source.
Every ingested item lands in a review queue rather than being auto-published. An editor confirms the category, fixes any rendering issues, and approves before the item appears on this page. Items that look like spam, duplicates, or off-topic content are rejected with a reason recorded in our audit log.
Funding, services, regulation, clinical, workforce, technology, business, inspections, CPD, other. The default category comes from the source feed; an editor can re-categorise on approval.
The ingest cron dedupes by (in priority order) the source-supplied GUID, then the article URL, then a SHA-256 of the title and publication date. If the same story is syndicated by two of our sources, only the first ingest wins; the duplicate is silently dropped on the database's unique constraint.
